RULES
Siamese differences
Two players, two racks each, no Charleston. Build two hands using one shared supply of hidden tiles per player.
Setup and tile count
- Two players, two racks each. Build two winning hands.
- Start with 27 tiles each. East draws a 28th, then discards. There is no Charleston.
- Before your first mahjong, count 27 tiles between turns and 28 before discarding. No replacement draw follows a kong.
- Hidden tiles can move between your racks. Exposures stay on the rack you choose when calling.
- Only your opponent can answer a discard.
Calls and declarations
- You may use jokers in an exposure to save natural tiles for your other hand.
- Choosing hands that need different tiles is a strategy, not a requirement.
- Declare your first 14-tile hand, discard, and keep playing with 13 active tiles.
- Declared tiles stay fixed, and their jokers cannot be exchanged. Waiting to declare keeps them available but risks the game ending first.
- You also cannot exchange a joker from the exposure that made a rack dead.
Endings and payments
- One dead rack leaves the other in play. One declared hand plus one dead rack leaves you with no active hand.
- The game ends on a second mahjong, both racks dead for one player, or a wall game.
- Your first mahjong pays its card value. Your second pays double.
- An eligible jokerless hand doubles again. Declaring both mahjongs in one turn doubles both payments again. There is no self-pick bonus.
- Both racks dead costs a flat 100 points.
- Giving your opponent their second mahjong costs 25 points. This includes a discard that completes the first of two hands declared together.
- A wall game pays each player 10 points. A first mahjong already declared is still paid.
- A double-mahjong claim takes priority in a tie.
